Janson Coffee – Los Alpes 1010 – Washed Gesha
This exceptional Gesha coffee comes from Finca Janson, a family-run estate established in 1941 and now managed by the second and third generation of the Janson family. The Los Alpes lot is grown on the slopes of the Tisingal and Barú mountains, in the Volcán region of Chiriquí, Panama, at an elevation of 1,600–1,700 meters above sea level. The farm benefits from rich volcanic soils, cool mountain air, and a pristine microclimate, ideal for producing world-class Gesha.
After harvest, only the ripest cherries were carefully handpicked and sorted by flotation to ensure density and quality. The cherries were then depulped and underwent a controlled fermentation to gently break down the mucilage. The beans were washed with clean spring water and sun-dried on African raised beds for 10–15 days, allowing slow and even drying that preserves the coffee’s elegance and clarity.
